Andrea Bocelli recently shared an enchanting performance with his daughter Virginia, as the two captivated audiences with a heartfelt rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
This magical father-daughter duo isn’t new to the spotlight. Virginia made her professional debut at the age of eight during a live-streamed Christmas concert from Teatro Regio di Parma. It was here that she and Andrea first performed “Hallelujah” together, leaving fans around the world moved by their emotional connection.
Since then, Virginia has joined her father and older brother, Matteo Bocelli, on tour. The family also released A Family Christmas album last year, with a deluxe edition out this holiday season, which includes a new duet of “Let It Snow” between Andrea and Virginia.
Their most recent appearance on Strictly Come Dancing added a special warmth to the ballroom, as they performed their live rendition of “Hallelujah” amidst the graceful dancers—another unforgettable moment in their family’s musical legacy.
In addition to this, Andrea is set to make history as the first classical artist to headline the prestigious festival, and fans are encouraged to secure tickets quickly before they sell out.
Reflecting on her early experiences in a candid interview with Express.co.uk, Virginia shared how nervous she was at first: “When I sang live for the first time, I was really scared, but after doing it a few times, I started to feel more comfortable. Singing ‘Over The Rainbow’ made me anxious again—it could go either way. But once you have a few good performances, you start to calm down and think, ‘I did well last time.’ It’s a learning process.”
And it’s clear she’s blossoming beautifully, developing as a performer right alongside her legendary father.
