Keith Urban’s Heartfelt Gesture: Spotting Kids’ Signs in the Audience, He Brings Them onstage for an Unforgettable Experience

When two young fans arrived at Keith Urban’s Las Vegas concert with homemade LED signs, the country music star made sure they had an unforgettable experience. During his performance last month, Urban couldn’t help but notice the bright, flashing signs in the audience. Intrigued, he grabbed a pair of binoculars to read the messages and discovered the signs belonged to five-year-old Connor and his younger sister Emma, who had traveled from California with their parents just to see their favorite artist.

Moved by their enthusiasm, Urban called them up on stage. “You guys want to come up here? Come on up. I mean, you’ve got battery-operated signs!” he playfully said. It was clear that these weren’t just any ordinary fans. Connor was wearing a Keith Urban t-shirt and strumming a toy guitar, while Emma sparkled in a glittery pink outfit with cowboy boots.

Once on stage, Connor proudly shared that this was his fourth time seeing Urban perform. His mom quickly corrected him, saying it was actually his fifth, as she had attended an Urban concert while pregnant with him. “Wow, that’s incredible,” Urban responded with a laugh. “Was he kicking all night long?”

The conversation continued, with Connor mentioning that his favorite Urban song was the 1999 hit “Where the Blacktop Ends.” When asked if he wanted to play guitar for real someday, Connor hesitated before replying, “Maybe!”

Connor’s sign had a list of Keith Urban-related wishes, including getting his guitar signed and receiving a guitar pick—both of which had already been checked off at previous shows. That night, he was able to cross off the final item: snapping a picture with his idol.

The experience left a lasting impact. According to Connor’s mom, the kids couldn’t stop talking about it afterward. In fact, just a few days after the concert, Connor made a special birthday wish: “Mom, I know what I want for my birthday—I want to learn how to really play guitar.”

With Urban’s High and Alive World Tour starting in spring 2025, Connor and Emma may have another opportunity to see him live.
