Jason Momoa captured attention on Monday as he officially revealed his new girlfriend on Instagram, ending months of speculation surrounding his romantic life. Fans had eagerly awaited answers regarding his relationship status, and this announcement finally provided the clarity they sought.
Momoa, now 44 years old, crossed paths with the 32–year–old actress during their collaboration on the 2021 Netflix movie *Sweet Girl*. Despite still being legally wed to Lisa Bonet at the time, the circumstances were more intricate than initially perceived.
Even though Momoa and Bonet were technically still married, they had been living separately for over five years. His romance with Arjona began post-separation, ensuring a clean break with no overlap. The couple officially confirmed their separation on October 7, 2020.
Bonet submitted the official divorce papers on January 8 this year and the divorce was finalized in a friendly manner the next day.
With the divorce settled, Momoa felt comfortable sharing his new romance with Arjona publicly. He posted a collection of photos from a recent visit to Japan with her, affectionately calling her “mi amor” in the caption. The images captured their strong bond, with one especially touching photo showing Arjona gently touching Momoa’s arm while he embraced her, radiating warmth and love.
“Japan, you were a magical experience that left me in awe,” expressed Momoa in the caption. “We are grateful to all who embraced us and contributed to creating unforgettable moments with both new and old acquaintances. Sending much love, J.”
Arjona, previously wed to lawyer Edgardo Canales in 2019, has maintained a level of privacy regarding her personal life, leaving little information about their separation or divorce.
While Arjona may appear to be a recent addition to Momoa’s life, she already has a connection to his stepdaughter, Zoë Kravitz. In fact, Kravitz selected Arjona to direct her upcoming movie *Blink Twice*, featuring Channing Tatum, scheduled for release on August 23.
Momoa, Bonet, and Lenny Kravitz are set to grace the highly anticipated wedding of Zoë Kravitz and Tatum, adding a touch of stardom to the celebration.
Having been in a relationship for 13 years prior to tying the knot in 2017, Momoa and Bonet are still successfully co–parenting their two children, 15–year–old Nakoa–Wolf and 16–year–old Lola, while maintaining a private and respectful family dynamic.
In a heartfelt Instagram post in January 2022, the couple announced their separation, acknowledging the impact of these transformative times on their family and expressing their commitment to growing and evolving through these changes.
The declaration continued: “We are disclosing this information not because it’s of public interest, but because we aim to embark on the upcoming phase of our lives with transparency and sincerity.”
