Craig Mcgettrick’s unexpected discovery of five tiny creatures in his backyard turned out to be a momentous event. While clearing waste from a garden in England with a friend, they encountered an old mattress they needed to remove. Little did they anticipate the surprise waiting beneath it.
To their astonishment, they uncovered five tiny animals, initially believed to be puppies or perhaps kittens. Thinking someone had abandoned them, Craig decided to take them under his wing. He reached out to a local animal shelter and shared their photos on Facebook in hopes of finding them new homes.
However, the remarkable truth about these “puppies” soon came to light. Martin Hemmington, founder of the National Fox Welfare Society, spotted the photos on Facebook and recognized the animals as fox cubs, not dogs. Craig’s innocent mistake had inadvertently placed the young foxes in a rescue center meant for dogs.
Quick action was taken to reunite the fox cubs with their mother. Paul McDonald, known as The Fox Man, facilitated their return to the spot where Craig had found them. With Paul’s help, the hungry cubs began calling out for their mother, and before long, she appeared to reclaim her precious offspring.
Thanks to Craig’s compassion and the collaborative efforts of caring individuals like Beccie and Martin, the fox family was reunited, allowing the mother fox to continue caring for her beloved cubs in their natural habitat.
Truly a heartwarming conclusion to an unexpected journey!
