Bears are commonly known as fierce and dangerous creatures, but they also have a tender side. This is perfectly demonstrated below, where a man and a black bear have developed a strong and unique relationship.

The mother bear used to visit Patrick Conley quite often over the years, and one day, she brought her newly born cubs to meet him! Patrick is from Asheville, North Carolina, where black bears are very common and known to be comfortable around humans.

The bear population in this part of the United States is rapidly expanding, partly due to bears adapting to life among humans. This was a normal event for Patrick, nothing out of the ordinary. But it was a surprise when she brought her first litter to meet him.

He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the adorable family of cubs trotting behind their mother. “The cubs are the cutest things to ever walk these woods.”

Simone was already a dear friend of Patrick, so for Patrick, meeting the cubs was like meeting a new family member. You can see how comfortable Simone feels with Patrick as she walks, without hesitation, straight onto the porch with her cubs following her.

It’s clear that the cubs aren’t as comfortable as their mother, as they hesitate a bit before jumping onto the porch. But in the end, all three are under the porch to greet Patrick, and understandably, he’s in awe.

A bear, generally known to be fearsome, is so friendly with Patrick, a human, and trusts him so much that she’s introducing him to her vulnerable newborns.

Both cubs run to the nearest tree to climb and play, and Simone follows closely.

They’re still getting used to this new world. After some exploration, climbing, and playing, Simone signals that it’s time to go, and the trio disappears into the forest.

Patrick noted that Simone seemed well-fed and healthy.
