When my husband and I started building a tiny home from scratch using only the materials we had on hand, the neighbors couldn’t help but laugh. They doubted us, saying such a small project could never turn out well. Fast forward to today, and those same neighbors are in awe! They’re now dreaming of having their own version of our cozy, functional 18-square-meter retreat. Let us take you inside to show how we made the most of every inch of space!
From the outside, the house blends beautifully into its surroundings, giving off a charming, studio-like vibe. A small patio with a wooden deck, garden paths, and greenery welcomes you, creating a peaceful, inviting atmosphere.
Inside, the house is a masterclass in maximizing functionality without sacrificing style. The open-plan design seamlessly combines a kitchen, bedroom, and living area. Every piece—shelves, rugs, even coat racks—was chosen to balance utility with aesthetic appeal. The layout ensures the space feels bright, uncluttered, and surprisingly roomy.
Despite its size, the house is packed with features. It boasts a kitchenette, a cozy sleeping nook, a compact yet stylish bathroom, and even a corner for reading or relaxing with a show. Thoughtful insulation, including 25 cm thick walls and underfloor heating, ensures it stays warm year-round, even during harsh winters.
What sets it apart is the personal touches. Many details, like repurposed lighting fixtures, add character while embracing sustainability. This little house proves that tiny living can be practical, beautiful, and full of charm.
What do you think? Can a home this small still feel complete, comfortable, and cozy? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
